new steps

Posted in Group:

I dont even know where I last left off since being on here last.

After my last relapse, back in fall 2010, I sought out outpatient therapy with the help and support on everyone here. I went for a few months and then took off running on my own.

Ive been doing well. Eating, exercising (appropriately), dealing with my body now. I am not completely better. I still see horrible things in the mirror, but I am learning and trying to accept what I see. I still count calories, yet for a different reason then I once did. I count to make sure I eat enough, especially if I work out that day. The gym isnt just calories anymore, but how many miles I can make my legs carry me. My body is transforming, allowing me to do such things because I am finally healing.

I also got a tattoo. It says the word beautiful and is flipped so I can read it when I look in the mirror. Its a reminder for myself that I am beautiful no matter what my eating disorder tells me. Though, the voice is so faint now, I can over ride it all the time.

I have now been in a record recovery time. I just dont want to mess it up. Recovery is like being on a tight rope.... falling is always an option. But this time, I am not going to let that happen. I just dont know what it is like now that I am crossing uncharted territory. I never thought I could be so happy like I am now. Handle life's challenges in new ways, deal with stress in healthy ways, or even run miles without my heart working too hard. To be with my friends and my loving boyfriend and be open and honest. To just live and be happy. It boggles my mind. How can I not keep putting my foot forward in this journey?

Omg!! I'm so proud of you!!! I notice when people have eating disorders, they automTically hate what they see and go and harm their bodies because they choose nit to accept who they are. They want to be someone your not. I've been I. Your same position dn I too have gotten better. If you want, I can walk with you on your full way to recovery. I'll be here if you ever need me. But I'm glad your happy....keep t up. But if you ever have a problem....don't be afraid to inbox me!!!

When life hands you lemons, make apple juice and have everyone wondering how you did it.

Thank you denaxx! That means a lot to me! And that is so great to see more and more people on here on the road to recovery or recovered :)

I will definitely keep that in mind if I am having a bad day or something. Same goes for you as well :)
